A group from a Jewish religious community resides in Kumanovo, and a house in the Zelen Rid neighborhood on the outskirts of the city has become a temporary home for dozens of members of this community.

Some of the residents of this neighborhood reacted and asked for their relocation, and some describe them as peaceful people. They have a different appearance, with specific clothing on their heads, which are rumored in the public to be part of the radical Jewish religious group Lev Tahor .

Panic among the people of Kumanovo, but also interest among the general public in the country appeared after these foreign citizens, who are 30 to 40 in number, started walking freely through the streets of Kumanovo. A greater presence of children was noted among them. Their clothing and way of life instills uneasiness among the Cumans, especially when they spot them late at night. We are talking about people with American and Canadian citizenship, who rented a house to stay in Kumanovo.

The members of the Lev Tahor sect, who lived in Bosnia and Herzegovina for three months, brought the public to their feet before their departure after the frightened neighbors spoke publicly. A similar situation is happening in North Macedonia, where this group has now gone to live, writes Srpskainfo.

After wandering through a number of Eastern European countries and being deported from many of them, 37 members of the Lev Tahor Jewish sect settled in Kumanovo, North Macedonia.

The members of this group have been living in the Luka settlement in East Sarajevo since November, from where they were deported after their three-month visa-free residence regime expired.

The arrival of a group of Ultra-Orthodox Jews in the northern town of Kumanovo this weekend, wearing traditional clothing that residents never saw before, has raised concerns among some local residents.

“These persons respect the laws of North Macedonia, have a completely legal right to stay here and are here only temporarily,” Kumanovo police told the media on Sunday.

“Our information is that this group is in permanent movement and is expected to leave our country in the next few days,” police added, not disclosing where the group might be heading.

“Police wish to inform residents that this group poses no danger, and appeals for tolerance and solidarity towards them,” they added.
