Geoffrey S. Berman, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, William F. Sweeney Jr., Assistant Director-in-Charge of the New York Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (“FBI”), and George P. Beach II, Superintendent of the New York State Police (“NYSP”), announced today the arrests of NACHMAN HELBRANS, MAYER ROSNER, ARON ROSNER, and JACOB ROSNER, all of whom were charged by complaint with kidnapping two children in Woodridge, New York, and unlawfully transporting them to Mexico. With the help of Mexican law enforcement partners, the children were recovered this morning in the town of Tenango del Air in Mexico. Plans are underway to bring them back to the United States and reunite them with their mother.

Two kids who were kidnapped from an upstate family retreat earlier this month were found in a small town near Mexico City on Friday — as three men charged in their disappearance appeared in White Plains federal court, federal officials said.
The children — Yante Helbrans, 14, and Chaim Helbrans, 12 — had last been seen getting into a vehicle outside a home in Woodridge, NY, on Dec. 8 — just weeks after being reunited with their mom, Sara Helbrans.
Helbrans had escaped to Brooklyn with her six children last month after fleeing from an extreme Jewish community in Guatemala known as “Lev Tahor.”
A Brooklyn man has been arrested in connection with two kids who disappeared after escaping from an extremist “cult” in Guatemala, authorities said.
Aron Rosner — the brother of a top official in the Jewish sect Lev Tahor — was arrested by the FBI and State Police at about 1 a.m. in Williamsburg on Sunday, according to sources and police officials.
